Since 1982, Northern Churches Care (NCC) has consistently served Colorado Springs through its emergency crisis support programs. NCC is dedicated to improving the lives of low-income families, the working poor, and those who experience an unexpected calamity by helping them move from crisis to hope.

NCC administers a variety of programs including rental & utility assistance, food, clothing and transportation vouchers, medical and prescription co-pays, legal advice & tax preparation. Additionally, NCC provides spiritual support through prayer and by connecting individuals and families to caring Christian Communities.

Last year a woman with 4 children entered our doors. What she needed initially was utility assistance. While working with the intake counselor, she was also provided with some information about Habitat for Humanity. After addressing her immediate need, the intake volunteer prayed with her and she left. She came back this year, not for assistance but to thank us and to tell us her wonderful story. She took the information that she was offered, applied to Habitat for Humanity, and was accepted. In the very near future she and her 4 children will have their own home. She said that she didn't even know what Habitat for Humanity was when she was given the pamphlets. This was an answer to prayer that she did not think possible.
