NCC was founded in 1982 by a group of churches that envisioned working cooperatively to provide emergency food and financial services. NCC still has a strong base of member churches in Colorado Springs that support NCC by providing volunteers, monetary gifts, and donation of food pantry items. In addition to church support, NCC program costs are supplemented through partnerships with individuals, community organizations and foundations. Currently, NCC provides services to 15 zip code areas encompassing 71% of the population of Colorado Springs and provides services to all of Colorado Springs with several programs.

| I came to Northern Churches Care with my needs and I was treated with respect and kindness. I was greeted with a smile and I felt very comfortable. I needed food and help with my utilities and Northern Churches Care helped. I didn't think that I was going to make it through this month without struggling for food and money. I am truly blessed by God and Northern Churches Care.
